The Salesforce Summer ‘24 Release: Sizzling New Features to Boost Your Organization’s Efficiency

This season, the Salesforce Summer ‘24 Release is heating up with a suite of exciting updates and enhancements. We have curated a list of new features to help our customers and also other organizations know more about the latest in Salesforce. Dive deep into the new releases and updates.

Key Updates for Enhanced Security and Performance

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA is now required when logging into your production organization, with a 30-day grace period from your first login. This requirement is not applicable for trial environments or free periods. Network administrators will receive reminders if MFA is disabled, ensuring enhanced security.

No-Reply Email Address

To comply with digital communication security regulations, organizations must now create and verify a default no-reply email address. This new setting will be implemented across the entire organization's email settings, ensuring compliance and enhancing security.

Salesforce Cookie Usage

To test custom features and code that use Salesforce cookies, enable the new My Domain setting called “Require first-party use of Salesforce cookies.” This ensures developers can verify their code’s functionality as browsers move towards blocking third-party cookies.

Google Chrome Storage Partitioning

Starting with the Summer ‘24 release, Google Chrome storage partitioning will be enabled for Salesforce domains. This gives you more time to test partitioned storage solutions and offers flexibility to reverse the change if issues arise. By September 2024, Google Chrome storage partitioning will be mandatory.

Enhanced User Experience and Efficiency

Improved Error Handling in Lightning Experience

If a page becomes out of sync, the server will attempt to process it and display a warning message, eliminating automatic refreshes. Users can decide the optimal time to refresh, improving the user experience.

Performance Enhancement for Big Objects

To optimize performance, data larger than the maximum allowed size is now neither encoded nor validated during the write process. This change enhances the speed of reading and writing data to Big Objects.

Salesforce Scheduler

The updated Salesforce Scheduler allows you to create group appointments and invite customers to sign up for field service appointments. Authenticated users can share appointment URLs with unauthenticated users, who can modify or cancel their appointments. Personalized invitations can be generated using Prompt Builder, streamlining the appointment scheduling process.

Einstein Search

Einstein Search gets smarter with several updates:

  • Search Manager: Improve search efficiency and relevance by customizing how users search, create specific search configurations, filter results, and configure objects.

  • Permanent Search Objects: Select objects that should always appear in search results, based on user profiles.

  • Search Security: Protect sensitive information by selecting which custom fields to display or protect in search results, with up to 100 custom fields protected per object.

Administrator-Focused Enhancements

Permissions and Access Management

  • User Access Summary: Quickly view all permissions, public groups, and queues assigned to a user directly from their page.

  • Public Group Usage: Easily find where a public group is used and the access its users have.

  • Permission Set and Group View: See all enabled permissions and their relationships on a single page.

  • Automate User Access: Automate permission set assignments and user migrations with user access policies, which now support up to 200 active policies.
